Hello all! I’m DJ Greggie C from Curran Entertainment and The DJ Entertainment School, as well as a music consultant for N.A.M E. Entertainers. This is the fifth year that New York City DJ Convention (NYDJCON) has been held at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square. Even though it was a little bit smaller than in previous years, NYC DJ Con did not disappoint.

Including all of the disc jockey entertainers and musical artists that attended NYC DJ Con this year, companies like Peavey Electronics and QSC were in attendance as well as a couple of New York’s top radio stations like Hot 97 FM and Power 105. You could also hook up and watch DJ organizations like Fleet DJs and The Heavy Hitters, Rock and Soul, one of my favorite NYC distributors of DJ gear, were also in the house.

There was so much to do at NYC DJ Con! From networking with your favorite DJs and artists to learning the art of DJ-ing such as how to mix and scratch, you could get a new phone or charge your old one at the T-Mobile booth. You could also grab some new DJ swag, get some promo shots taken and get music from your favorite artists. The performances on the main stage didn’t disappoint either. You could jam out to DJ Sophia, the young kid DJ, to the 2018 and 2019 DMC DJ Champ DJ Throdown sets. Peavey also had a large stage again this year with performances by DJ Throdown, Grand Wizard Theodore and DJ Young Fresh Prince (one of the The DJ Entertainment School’s top students).

The main stage also had artists that performed like Chinese Kitty and Skinny from the 9. There were also seminars to inform and entertain like “In Flex We Trust” hosted by Funk Master Flex and a Peavey DJ Panel with DJ Keith Shocklee and DJ Enuff Said. Sorry kids in attendance, please excuse the foul language.

Shout out to DJ Lady S and Ted Smooth who are always in the house representing the DJ culture with myself and trying to pass on what we learned to other generations. Finally, I would like to thank Kevin Smith and the entire DJ Con staff for everything they did to assist myself, N.A.M.E. entertainers and the DJ Entertainment School. Like I’ve always said, the NY DJ Con is vital to any DJ or artist. See you in 2020!
