Hello everybody! My name is DJ Greggie C from Curran Entertainment & The DJ Entertainment School, as well as the music consultant for N.A.M E. I have been going to The DJ Expo in Atlantic City, New Jersey every year since it started 30 years ago. Even though it has been held at many different venues, the experience remains the same. Besides finding some of the most up-to-date technologically and advanced equipment on the market today, The DJ Expo is an excellent place to network with other DJs in the industry and other business professionals. I would like to take you on a quick walk through of the 2019 DJ Expo. You can see a VR 360 walkthrough video below.
Since Monday was seminar day, the floor didn’t open until Tuesday, but there were several seminars to help educate DJs and entertainers. The seminars ranged from business techniques to social media marketing and advertising. You could learn everything from entertaining games and dances to the technology that encompasses our DJ world and how you can profit from it. I also had the honor of hosting a seminar on Monday for Peavey Electronics with DJ Neeek Nyce and 2018 DMC Champion DJ Throdown on “Paying it Forward” i.e. teaching beginners and kids how to DJ. We closed out Monday evening with a private beach house party, hosted by The Senate DJs and some of the best DJs in the nation including DJ Sojo, DJ Dramadik, DJ Jayski, Buck Rogers and many others.

Tuesday was the opening of the main exhibit floor and it did not disappoint. This year was a bit larger than years prior, and even though some companies were not in attendance this year, there were other new companies that took their place, as well as a few that started to re-emerge. Brands like American DJ, American Music, Peavey Electronics, BPM Supreme, Chauvet, Global Truss, Pro X cases, Floyd Rose audio, Bose, Bass Boss, D.A.S., Denon, Rane, Reloop, Pioneer DJ, Numark, The National Association of Mobile entertainers, Gemini and many others.

Besides the seminars, workshops and panels, there were also keynote speakers like Z-trip and Biz Markee to name just a couple that spoke to the crowd about their experiences and answered questions.
The nightlife events did not disappoint either. Tuesday right after the Expo closed, PV hosted a special party at Eden Lounge with Keith Shocklee of Public Enemy, Grand wizard Theodore, DJ Groove, 2018 DMC Champion DJ Throdown and DJ Jeff Rush. Some of N.A.M.E.’s staff were there as well as DJ Greggie C and The DJ Entertainment School’s special V.I.P. guests at Peaveys Eden event as well. Directly after the Peavey party on Tuesday night, another one of my sponsors, BPM Supreme, hosted a huge party at Haven in the Golden Nugget with Z-Trio, Qbert and more. On Wednesday night, I also attended Eden Lounge for a special party that included DJ skribble, Mell Starr, Grand Wizard Theodore and more.

Chris Weitzel of Reading, PA, won the Ultimate DJ Giveaway on Thursday when the Expo came to a close. The system was an entire set of DJ equipment, lights and more donated by some of the sponsors of The DJ Expo. I was also excited and honored to have both DJ Z-Trip and DJ Qbert offer to join up to help support and promote the DJ Entertainment School for the future. Finally, I would like to thank Paul Bozikas, Jeannemarie Graziano, and the Entire DJ Times Staff for everything they did to assist myself and the DJ Entertainment School. Like I’ve always said, The DJ Expo is vital to any DJ or entertainer or photo booth operator, especially those that run their own business. See you in 2020!
