Frank Garcia, owner of MainLine Worldwide, has put together a GoFundMe page for well-known and well-loved DJ Bob Kelly who is suffering from ALS. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.

In the GoFundMe page, Frank explains the dire situation more clearly:

“It is with hope and a heavy heart that this GoFundMe page has been built. Our friend in the entertainment community, DJ, MC and all-around great person, Robert “Boogie Bob” Kelly has been diagnosed with advanced stages of ALS. If you know Boogie, then you know what an amazing person he is. If you know ALS, you also know the disease has no boundaries and no cure. Like most of us in this industry, Boogie has no 401K plan, no retirement and certainly no steady job. As you are reading this, Bob is in a rehabilitation center where they are trying to keep him comfortable. He no longer has use of his hands and he is barely able to breathe on his own. Unfortunately, it gets worse. Boogie Bob’s lovely wife has cancer and with her treatments and her weakness that prevails, she is unable to take care of Bob properly. We want Bob to be able to be cared for at home and to be made comfortable. A day nurse is needed as well as day-to-day living expenses. Please share this GoFundMe page and donate what you can. Your help is needed, let’s come together as a community and do the right thing. Thank you.”

In addition to the GoFundMe page, Frank Garica and friends will be throwing a fundraiser for DJ Bob “Boogie With Bob” Kelly since he can no longer work and he was a full-time DJ.

Fundraiser for Robert “Boogie Bob” Kelly to be held at the end of February.

“We are looking for the DJ and sound & lighting community to support him during this fundraiser,” said Frank.

It is set for Thursday, February 28th from 7 p.m. to around midnight at The Supper Room, 38-17 Bell Blvd Bayside, NY, 11361.

Many DJs will play and there will be a raffle of some gear to raise even more money for his cause. N.A.M.E. is donating two memberships as part of the raffle prizes. Bob and his wife will be attending. Frank is also looking for donated equipment for the raffle. All proceeds will go to Bob and his cause.
